Schattenwald Geheimnisse Band 6
Der letzte Band, das große Finale der Schattenwald Reihe ist im Dezember bei cbj erschienen und ja, es ist episch!
Fünf magische Schattenjuwele haben Sophie und Sam bereits gefunden. Nur der sechste liegt noch irgendwo versteckt. Und Koboldkönig Ug weiß genau, dass dieser sechste Stein seine letzte Chance ist, Herr über die Schattenwelt zu werden. Deshalb holt er die Fledermauselfen zu Hilfe - Wesen, so Furcht einflößend, dass sogar der mutigen Sophie das Herz in die Hose rutscht. Wird es den Kinder gelingen, den letzten Juwel zu erobern und das Tor in die Schattenwelt für immer zu verschließen? (via Buchrücken)

Five magic shadow gems were already discovered by Sophie and Sam. But the sixth still lies hidden somewhere. And the Goblin King Ug knows full well that this sixth stone is his last chance to become master of the shadow World. Therefore he request the Bat Sprites for help - creatures, so terrifying, that even brave Sophie's heart sinks into her boots. Will the kids succeed in capturing the last gem and secure the gateway to the Shadow Realm for ever? (via back of book)

Kapitel 9 - S. 97:
"... Sie hatte das Gefühl, als würden in dem Dammerlicht Tausende von Wesen auf sie losstürmen. Dann sah sie ein riesiges krakenartiges Monster, das seine mit Saugnäpfen besetzten Tentakel nach ihr ausstreckte. ..."
Spätestens nach diesem Satz war ich vollends mit dem Finale der Reihe zufrieden: Hier triffst die junge Heldin dieser Kinderbuchreihe offensichtlich auf den großen Cthulhu. Es wird im Buch nie angesprochen und ich bezweifle auch eher, dass die Autorin diese Parallele im Kopf hatte, aber ich interpretiere es gern auf diese Weise. Denn was will man mehr, wenn man das ganze illustrieren soll? :)
(Aber Eltern, keine Sorge, es ist trotzdem eine sehr kindgerechte Erzählung (siehe die Amazon-Rezensionen ;)
Hier der Entwurf und die fertig Buchillu... und weil's so schön ist: coloriert!
"... She got the impression of thousands of creatures charging towards her through the gloom, and saw a giant grey octopus-like monster waving its suckered tentacles. ..." At the latest this sentence completely convinced me of the final. At this point the young heroine of this children's book series obviously faces the great Cthulhu. It's never told in the story and to be honest I doubt that the author had this parallel in mind, but I willingly interpret it in this way. Because What do you want more, when you have to illustrate that story? :)
But parents, don't worry, it's a pretty nice story appropriated for children anyway ;)
And hereafter the sketch and the final book illu... and just for fun: the colored version!

What I've done... 2013
Heidewitzka, das war mal wieder ein sehr abwechslungsreiches Jahr... Meerjungfrauen, Tentakelmonster, Ritter, Dinosaurier, Orks.... was will man mehr?! Und der Osterhase hätte mir beinahe den Weihnachtsmann umgegrätscht - aber dazu mehr im nächsten Jahr!
<>, once again this was a year rich in variety... mermaids, tentacle-monsters, knights, dinosaurs, orcs... what more could one want?! And the Easter Bunny nearly knocked off Santa Clause - but more about that in the next year!

im Moment merk ich, dass ich wirklich sowas wie ein schlechtes Gewissen hab, wenn ich einfach mal was für mich mal, anstatt meine Jobs abzuarbeiten... daran muss ich definitiv dringend was ändern (und wenn es auf Kosten von Schlaf geht ;)
I noticed that I get l kind of a bad conscience, when I simply draw something for me instead of working on my several job projects... I definately have to change something about this (and even if it's at the cost of sleep ;)
