Laden der Träume

And now I'm pretty happy to present my second cbj-series called "Laden der Träume" (engl.: "Shop of dreams"), written by Dirk Ahner. The first two books of this thrilling time-travel-adventure-series for kids 8+ have just been released: "Das Gold der Piraten" and "Das Rätsel des Pharao" ("The Pirate's Gold" and "The Secret of the Pharao").
Und jetzt feu ich mich, meine zweite cbj-Reihe "Laden der Träume" von Dirk Ahner präsentieren zu können. Die ersten beiden Teile dieser spannenden Zeitreise-Abenteuer-Serie für Kinder ab 8 sind gerade erschienen: "Das Gold der Piraten" und "Das Rätsel des Pharao".

When Ben, Lara and Nepomuk accidentally enter the old and winding store of the magician Filomenus, they don't sense the marvelousness that awaits them! In a magical chrystal glass Filomenus collects dreams of all kind. When Nepomuk upsets the glass by accident, the dreams escape in all directions. It's a matter of honour that Ben, Lara and Nepomuk help to recover them again. But ever dream leads into a new and dangerous adventure!

I was glad to do the whole Cover-Layout this time on my own: The varying cover-illu, the frame AND the logo. So it's a completely rounded piece of work, I think, and I'm pretty happy with it! Here you see some logo-drafts and the process of the cover-design:
Ich war ganz froh, dieses Mal das gesamte Cover-Layout zu gestalten, sprich die unterschiedlichen Cover-Illustrationen, den Rahmen UND das Logo. Dadurch ist es eine ziemlich runde Sache geworden, find ich, und ich bin sehr zufrieden damit! Hier ein paar Logo-Entwürfe und die Entstehung des Cover-Designs:


Filomenus the magician was a pretty difficult charakter to design, cos he's described as somebody you can't class with an age. He could be mid 30 as well as end 60... hard to draw!
Filomenus der Zauberer war ziemlich schwer zu entwickeln, weil er als jemand beschrieben wird, den man alterstechnisch nicht einordnen kann. Er könnte genauso gut mitte 30 sein wie Ende 60... schwierig zu zeichnen!

Schattenwald Geheimnisse Band 5

The fifth episode of the cbj's children's book series Schattenwald Geheimnisse (orig.: "Sophie and the Shadow Woods") was released last week. "Attacke der Eislinge" is the second last book already (how time flies!) and this time a pretty perfidious kind of a Shadow Creatures, an Eiswicht (Icile Imp) manages to sneak into Sophies family to get its fluffy paw on the six magical gems that are needed to open the gateway to the Shadow Realm.
Der fünfte Band der cbj-Kinderbuchreihe Schattenwald Geheimnisse ist letzte Woche erschienen. "Attacke der Eislinge" ist schon der vorletzte Teile (die Zeit rast!) und dieses mal schafft es eine sehr perfide Schattenkreatur, ein Eiswicht, sich direkt in Sophies Familie einzuschleichen, um an einen der sechs magischen Juwelen zu gelangen, die zur Öffnung des Portals zum Schattenreich benötigt werden. 














So better not trust cute little goggle-eyed creatures... they could have razor-sharp teeth. Muhahaha. (hm, sounds like a quote from Gremlins somehow...)
Also vertraue besser keinen süßen kleinen glotzäugigen Wesen... sie könnten messerscharfe Zähne haben. Muhahaha. (hm, klingt irgendwie nach nem Zitat aus Gremlins...)
